Amazon’s interesting return policy – no return needed

Last week, I purchased a few running gears on amazon.com to replace some of the retiring items that served me for years diligently.

As usual, products were delivered quickly and I was happy to try them on.

Two of the items fit perfectly fine but a pair of running pants was too large for my size, unfortunately.

So, I decided to return that item and logged back into amazon to process the return.

After selecting the products and filling a short form, to my surprise, I was told that I don’t need to return the item.

They say “It’s on us. You keep the item and refund is on it way back to your account.”

Really?… that’s interesting. I mean it’s not an expensive item but still.

Maybe, it has been always like this but I never experienced this myself. I assume writing that item off is cheaper than processing the return for amazon. Not needing to bring the item to nearest shipping location is convenient for sure.

But being left with an oversized pants that don’t fit isn’t particularly winning situation either… I guess it can be donated to some charity…

  1. yes i think that return (and repackaging) of object is more expensive ( maybe you can try with a TV large screen ah ah ) for your ‘running pants’ than the refund .
Amazon is good for the moment

  2. Makes sense for I can’t imagine seeing “used running pants” in the Amazon market place …

    Just musing 😀
