Hi everyone,
In the last two days, we pushed a few important changes to Vivaldi.net.
Vivaldi.net is now available in 5 languages, English, German, French, Turkish and Russian 🙂
Language switcher is located at the bottom of the page. Just click on the flag of your preferred language. Special thanks to QuHno, viva, zahek, ra-mon, Shpankov for translation.
We will be adding more languages as soon as we have them ready. Please let me know if you can help us on translation to your own language.
Here are some other notable changes;
- “Remember me”(keep me logged in) now works!
- Random logout bug is fixed
- Styling of forum email notification works now
- Notification on blog comments now arrives on your notification inbox on the site
- Caching is enabled again
- Security fixes
- Blog import from My Opera and other WordPress export XML.
As always, if you have any issues or feedbacks, please let us know.
Thanks,
Vivaldi Team
Those items should also be translated :
– “commented on the blog post,”
– “created a new blog post,”
– “replied to the topic ” … “in”
– “created a new forum post in”
– Text of 2 buttons “View Reply” / “View Thread”
Also maybe date display could be adapted according to language
mercredi, janvier 29, 2014 looks very strange in French for example.
Except that, it seems to be fully done.
Many thanks translators & Vivaldi Team !
Thank you for the good work !
Some fix or suggestions for French localization here : https://vivaldi.net/fr/forum/suggestion-box/49-language-localisation-planned?start=20#2235
In French, we need a space between a word and a colon or a semicolon ; and another space after 🙂

Are you sure all these changes are working?
They don’t appear to be on my end.
At the very least, I’m still very much having to log in after every Opera Browser restart just as much as before.
And I can’t even get the “Subscribe to this entry” at the bottom of posts to stay checked.
Somehow I doubt the Blog Comments Notifications work now.
ra-mon, we will update the translation
Suntana, we are looking into the issues now.
I will post an update as soon as we find fixes for them.
I am doing it now however, are all my posts going to be exported?
Are the comments also going to be added?
New here so any help will be appreciated
plus many of my readers are asking me how to do this so if I can help others I will
and also sharing your blog will help them also..
thanks for your efforts.

Fatimah, Welcome to Vivaldi!
Yes, all of your posts and comments should be imported here.
For the step by step guide, please see my other post.
Cheers,
I just did it and the first time I did it came in a zip file
this time it was a bunch of words no sense to it
what happened do you know?
I also emailed the zip file I did first will that work?
Uh… not sure what happened there. zip file should be OK.
But if you go to Files by clicking on the wrench icon, you should see xxxx.xml file above the zip file. No?
The XML file is 10 mob and mail only allows 5mb so I zipped it in order to send it via email
How do I move the Vivaldi browser window control buttons (min to panel, min max, and window close) from the right side to the default left side
OS Ubuntu Unity 14.04 LTS
We’re using a site build in/with Silverlight at school (school-agenda, -grades, -VLE etc) and I noticed that the SHIFT-button isn’t working.
Not only can’t I use uppercases, even @#$%^&*() etc aren’t accessible! So [email protected] becomes yalgra2hetc.nl
A known problem/bug? It isn’t URL-sensitive, on other sites with Silverlight I have the same problem appearing. (Windows 8.1)
Or doesn’t Vivaldi -like Chrome- support Silverlight (which I can understand)?
Great browser BTW…!
