Step 4: Click the big blue “Export your blog”button

Step 5: Wait for an email from My Opera. The email contains the link to where you can download your xml file

Step 6: Send the file using your Vivaldi.net Mail account to [email protected]

This is very important as we use your Vivaldi.net email account to correctly identify which Vivaldi account to import your xml file

Step 7: Wait patiently for your blog to appear on your Vivaldi account. It may take some time depending on the number of requests we get.

That’s it!

Please let me know if you have any questions or issues.

  1. Tatsuki, you should put this Info over on the Vivaldi Feedback area on the Forum as well and / or in the – How to / FAQs thread. Because this post can quickly disappear from here on the front page depending on how many posts get published and how quickly.

  2. @Lucky, Yes. As long as your mobile browser supports file download, it should work. You just need to send us the downloaded file according to the instruction in the article. cheers,

  3. Actually, on second thought, instead of in the Vivaldi Feedback subcategory … maybe it should be in the Vivaldi MAIN category. That way it gets quicker and more prominent exposure than if it is a little bit more hidden one step deeper in the Vivaldi Feedback category.

Well, it’s just an idea. Just thinking out loud. Just trying to help with getting more of the MyOpera people over here.

  4. Is there any risk if my Vivaldi blog contain already some posts created before importation of oldest post from My Opera. Will the chronological order be respected ?

  5. ra-mon, chronological order of the previous posts should be respected. Previously created blog post on My Opera appears according to the dates of the original posts based on our test.

  6. Suntana, thank you for the suggestion. I created a new topic and made it sticky under Vivaldi Feedback category for now. I will see if we should create a new category or not. Cheers!

  9. SORRY, calcuttaman and bainah.
For some strange reasons, correct email address was not updated in my post. 🙁
The correct email address is [email protected]
Please send your file again. Sorry for the trouble.

  10. Thanks again for doing all this for opera users 🙂
I don’t seem to be able to get my.opera files , but that’s a my.opera problem or me making a mistake.
I”ll try again or else I’ll do it blog by blog. I have an archive of my blog on my pc already so I have an available back up and time even if I end up doing it manually , I still have that solution.
I seem to have found it now although I never an e-mail from my.opera mail. It is called “main” , it’s a zip but vivaldi mail says it’s more than 5 MB so too big to go though the mail. I’ll try again…one step at a time I’ll find out what I’m doing wrong…

  11. crazyaboutmika, it seems My Opera is facing some issues with generating archive at the moment. We informed them about it and they are looking into it. If you get your archive, you just need to send us .xml file. Not the whole zip file to avoid large attachment over email.
XML file contains all the information we need to import your blog.
    Cheers

  12. I exported the blog XML via “Account > Blog settings > Export your blog”.
That way only the blog XML was generated.

  13. Seems archive generation is broken now as I only got main.zip with all my files and photos but no blog-xxxxxx.xml (no such XML was found inside main.zip also).

  14.
Wait patiently for your blog to appear on your Vivaldi account. It may take some time depending on the number of requests we get.
But how long it may take? Hours, days, weeks?
My blog still not being imported after 20 hours…

  15. It took a While for me also. THen I got an email from the blog-import team that there were errors in the XML file. After correction the file did not show errors but it still would not import.
I had to re-export the XML file. I checked it myself.and found an unsupported character (±) that was the culprit.
As I am no expert on XML this took a while but learned a lot.

  16. Sorry, fatal but the guy who does the blog import is traveling this week. So you will have to wait for a little. You should have your blog up next week though.

  17. Hello . I have a question. Is it possible to “migrate” my old emails (received and sent) from my opera email? Thank you.

  18. I keep trying but I never get opera’s e-mail with the link to the archive..however I do find an XML file in the files section of my.opera which is probably my archive.
I’ll try to send it again in an e-mail and see what happens…last time I tried it was too big to be attached . I hope I’ll be luckier this time 😉
I’m not very tech so thanks so much for this tutorial 🙂
I do have a HTTP website copier fonctional copy of my my.opera blog in my pc that works fine offline …but that’s not any use to transfer it on vivaldi.net

  19. I’m sorry but I have changed my mind and I prefer to upload my poems one by one and without comments so I will do that myself. Thanks and sorry for wasting your time. Have a good week end everyone =D

  20. my xml file was over 5 mbs so I zipped it and emailed it I don’t know if it will work in a zip format ? 🙁
it won’t work to net addy only com

  21. WOW! 😮

That´s awesome! The transfer is even better as at wordpress.com. Much more complete!
Thank you very, very much @Vivaldi Team!

  22. How big is it? If it’s smaller than 8mb, you can send it to me via PM.
If not, can you upload the file somewhere and send the link to the email address specified in the instruction?
